We would like to tell you a bit about ourselves here at Polar Bear Outfitters. If you were thinking of coming up for a fly-in fishing trip just find your way to Cochrane, Ontario and a.k.a Johnny Bait can pick you up from the train station or wherever you need a pick up. There are domestic air passenger flights arriving and departing the airport everyday down at the south end of Lillabelle Lake. You can start flying from any major airport in the world and find yourself in some of Canada's finest fishing and hunting country when you land. Moose and bear dodgers along the Trans-Canada Highway can easily find our float plane air base find by following the airport signs from town. We are located a 10 minute drive from the good coffee shop in downtown Cochrane Ontario, Canada.
Polar Bear Outfitters has been in the business of flying guests to remote outpost camps for over 35 years. Polar Bear Outfitters was originally established in 1971 by local master carpenter Steve Konopelky ( whose passion was hunting and fishing ) and his wife Nicole ( a registered nurse ).
Drop tents were initially used at the outposts until fully equipped cabins could be built. Immediately, Steve started taking anglers and hunters to their dream lakes, catching fish and hunting like never before.
Polar Bear Outfitters is perpetually expanding its fly-in fishing and hunting areas. In staying with modern times, we promote catch and release and are continuing to improve our camps to suit the needs of today's guests.
